Wafirethi of Papa Shirandula popularly known as Wafirethi, is the no-nonsense wife to Njoroge (Kenneth Gichoya) on Papa Shirandula. Her real name is Hanita Njoki Mwaniki.

Wafirethi was born in 1985.

Background

She is the first born in a family of three all being girls and her parents separated while they were still young and later on her mother passed on when she was only 9 years old. After her mothers death, she was taken in by her uncle and was thus raised in Ngong while her other siblings were taken in by their grandmother who stayed in Kibera.

During her early years, she attended Ndararua Primary School in Riruta and later attended Masai Girls High School. she however dropped out of school while in Form two due to financial difficulties after her uncle’s death.

Kenneth Gichoya (Njoroge on Papa Shirandula) being her very close friend, challenged her to audition for a role in Papa Shirandula. She therefore auditioned as Njoro’s wife in the local drama and made it and since then the job has been paying her bills. Besides acting she emcee’s at events and also has a shoe store business.

She is currently single and is a mother of one adorable daughter.
