Radio Africa Group launched Gukena FM a new Kikuyu radio station, to operate in eight Mt Kenya counties. Gukena 92.8 FM started airing from Nyeri town.

“There is much about this county, the people and their heritage, and somehow no one tells that story to the rest of the world,” general manager Martin Khafafa said.

Martin Khafafa said that the county was stable and peaceful enough to guarantee the station’s success and also said that the response had been “tremendous”.

The station is also being received in Kiambu, Laikipia, Meru, Murang’a and Nyandarua counties.
