The Government of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, has warned the people of Othaya never to indulge in alcohol until former First Lady Lucy Kibaki is buried.

Through the Nyeri-South Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD), Joseph Mwika, Uhuru’s Government directed the police to arrest anyone and everyone found drunk and misbehaving during this period of mourning.

Mwiti stated that any resident found drunk and misbehaving in Othaya will be arrested and locked up.
He noted that the order was in a bid to portray a good image to the numerous dignitaries who will be in the county on Saturday to attend the burial of Mama Lucy Kibaki.

“We want to portray a good picture and though most youth have quit alcoholism, there are a few who refuse to stop the bad habit,” Mwika said.
