Kenya School of TVET (Formerly KTTC): Courses, Admissions and Student Portal

Kenya School of TVET (KSTVET) is the current name of the institution previously known as Kenya Technical Trainers College (KTTC). Its earlier directory entry used ‘Kenya Technical Teachers College’, an inaccurate form of the former name. KSTVET is a government institution specialising in technical and vocational trainer development, education, professional development and related services.

Name change and institutional history

The institution’s own history explains that it previously operated as Kenya Technical Trainers College and that its mandate was expanded in 2022. It develops trainers for TVET institutions, supports technology and innovation, and undertakes research and community service. Its new identity is Kenya School of TVET, not a general university.

Courses and training at KSTVET

The institution offers technical teacher and trainer education, continuing professional development and vocational pedagogy. Programme names, levels, entry qualifications and fee arrangements vary by intake; students should use the official course documents rather than the broad, outdated list of certificate and diploma courses in the 2016 post.

  • Diploma in Technical Trainer Education (DTTE) and related trainer education pathways
  • Training in teaching methods, lesson planning and assessment for TVET trainers
  • Continuing professional development (CPD) in e-learning course design and facilitation
  • CPD in learner counselling, inclusion, sign language and mental wellness
  • Training for TVET managers in financial management, quality assurance and institutional leadership
  • Training and development opportunities through academic departments such as Education, Electrical Engineering, Computing, Business and Hospitality

How to apply and use the student portal

  • Visit the official KSTVET website and select the prospective student or Join Now option.
  • Check the programme notice and confirm you satisfy the stated academic and professional entry requirements.
  • Create or use an account in the institution’s linked student admissions system.
  • Complete the application and submit the required documents, following the current payment instructions.
  • Check application status, complete registration and use the official student portal and e-learning services after admission.

Do not assume the old kttc.ac.ke website or historic telephone numbers are the current admissions route. The official KSTVET website links to its student portal, e-learning platform, downloadable forms and fee structures.

Accommodation, fees and campuses

KSTVET provides hostel information through its student services. Its August 24, 2026 notice instructed students not to pay accommodation fees until they had successfully booked a bed. Fees were to be paid only into the official collection account stated in the admission letter. The institution also has a Moiben campus, so hostel procedures depend on campus and the relevant term.
