Uzima University is a Catholic health sciences university based in Kisumu, Kenya. It previously operated as Uzima University College, a constituent college of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. The institution announced that it received its full university charter on May 8, 2025. Its current name is Uzima University, and this page has been updated accordingly while keeping the historical permalink.
Uzima University history and its 2025 charter
Uzima began in 2012 with a focus on educating medical and healthcare professionals. Its official website reports a charter award ceremony at State House in May 2025. The earlier 2016 article incorrectly describes the institution as still a constituent college; that was its status at the time, not its current institutional identity.

Always check current intake availability before submitting an application. Tuition and other charges vary by medical programme, study pathway and funding category, and should be confirmed directly using official fee documents.
