Awinja of Papa Shirandula  popularly known by her stage name as Awinja, is a celebrated actress on Papa Shirandula playing the role of a mboch. Her real names are Jacky Vike.

Background

Awinja grew up in Kanuku and Madiwa in Eastleigh, Nairobi and she is the third born in a family of five kids consisting of three sisters and two brothers.

Education

She attended Heshima Road Primary School and later attended Kegoye High School in Western.

Awinja of Papa Shirandula: Career

After completing her secondary education, she came to Nairobi where she started acting literature set books.

“I first got into acting professionally back in 2008 with Theatrix Arts Ensemble, a travelling theatre that re-enacted high school set books. After a stint with the group, I joined Heartstrings Kenya and did different stage plays before joining Theatre Company in 2012.” Narrated Awinja. Awinja is also a professional dancer and a Yoga instructor.
