David Kilonzo popularly known as DK Kwenye Beat is award-winning artiste and a Kenyan gospel musician. David Kilonzo was born in Kangundo, Machakos county. He was raised in Kayole Estate Nairobi and he is the first born in the family.
He attended Upper Hill High School for his secondary school education and despite being rebellious, he completed high school, reformed and then he joined the industry and majored in gospel music.
Honestly, it has not been easy journey for him since there had been times when he wanted to give up and let go but by God’s sufficient grace, he was able to patiently hold on. However, he had to admit that keeping the right networks has immensely helped him grow in the industry.

In an interview, DK said that his girlfriend was top on his list of friends because she was more than a confidant to him. In fact, if you spot him, she is bound to be around. The ‘Asusu’ hitmaker, DK Kwenye Beat is set to wed his long-time girlfriend, Sherry Shanice, before the turn of the year. DK confirmed to a local daily pull out that plans are underway to have the ceremony in December. DK said that the two have had a successful relationship over the years, made plans, helped each other out and are now ready to take it to the next level.
Asked what it was like dating someone out of the showbiz scene, DK responded that it really does not matter whether a couple is in the same industry or not. Trusting and being companions is the most important element in life. He is also happy they are not in the same industry because she brings a different perspective to their relationship.
Sex Scandal
The gospel singer, DK Kwenye Beat who is known for hit tracks was engulfed in a sex scandal after a young woman shared her story where she had a threesome with him and fellow entertainer Hope Kid in March 2019. The young lady shared the intimate and gory details and went on to reveal that she ended up getting a sexually transmitted infection from the sexual encounter.
The prominent artist was disgraced for his actions and as public pressure continued to mount, he had no choice other than to make a public apology as earlier reported by The Sauce. According to an interview on Milele FM, he believed that his apology did not mean that the young woman in question was without blame.
Awards
He had been nominated for three categories in Male Artiste of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year awards, he has to admit the toughest competition comes from Jimmy, also a gospel artist, in the Male Artiste of the Year category.
