Here is what happened to the ‘AL SHABAAB terrorist’ who wanted to ‘bomb’ UHURU at GSU, Embakasi.

A man who was arrested on suspicion of plotting a terrorist attack on a police passing-out parade at GSU Training College in Embakasi, which was presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta, has been cleared.

In a statement to the press, Inspector General of Police, Joseph Boinnet, cleared any doubts about the true intentions of the alleged terrorist and ordered for his immediate release.

He noted that the suspicious device that the man was allegedly trying to sneak into the GSU Training College was a motherboard of a transistor radio and was not an explosive device as had earlier been reported.

“The truth is that someone was found with a motherboard of a small transistor radio in his bag at the security checks and was arrested for further questioning. There was no attempt to sneak a bomb,” said Boinnet.

“He was given the gadget by someone in Garsen to bring to another person in Nairobi for repair,” he added.

The suspect was cleared after a team of police were sent to Garsen to the said source and confirmed the story.
