John Kiarie Waweru is a Kenyan politician and a current Member of Parliament for Dagoretti South Constituency in Nairobi County. John Waweru has been a member of the Jubilee Party (JP), since 2017 and an Aspirant Member of Parliament of Republic of Kenya representing Dagoretti South Constituency.
John Waweru was born in 1978.
In 1991, John Waweru went to Kileleshwa Primary School for his Kenya Certificate of Primary School (KCPE) and then in 1995, he moved to the Dagoretti High School for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). In 1996, John Waweru joined the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology to pursue a Certificate in Information Technology. In 2003, he attended the APA/British Council to study a Certificate in Advertising and Communication and in 2001, went to the Kenyatta University to undertake a Bachelor of Education in Fine Arts and later, joined the Daystar University to study a Master of Arts in Development Communication.
He is a married man and fourth born of a family of eight. John’s mother died when he was just a few months old, she committed suicide while his father remarried and John was taken care of by his step mother. John’s elder brother who had introduced him to drawing and acting committed suicide, when he was in form one.

John Waweru got his first job in 1996 as a teacher at Materi Girls Centre and in 2000, again as a teacher at the State House Girls High School. From 1994 to 2007, John Waweru joined the Nation Media Group as a Journalist/Columnist. Between 2000 and 2007, he was employed at Redykulass Limited as a Director. In 2008, he worked for three years at Athi Water Services Board as a Director. In 2003 until 2008, he was given a job at Youth Agenda as a Director. From 2008 to 2011, Ogilvy Africa gave him a job as a Art Director and then between 2011 and 2017, he moved to the Scanad Communications as a Consultant. In 2017, John Waweru joined the Kenya National Assembly as a Member of Parliament for Dagoretti South Constituency.
