Joseph Wathigo Manje is a Kenyan politician, teacher and entrepreneur. Joseph is the current Member of Parliament for Kajiado North Constituency in Kajiado County. Joseph Manje is a member of Jubilee Party. Previously, Joseph Manje served as a Commissioner at the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Electoral Commission of Kenya’s (ECK) South Rift Presidential Election Zonal Coordinator. Joseph Manje was a teacher employed by Kenya’s Teachers Service Commission. Joseph Manje has business interests in the leather and construction industries.

Joseph Manje began his education at Kiserian Primary School before he was transferred to Nkoroi Primary School also known as Arap Moi Primary School. Joseph joined Olekejuado Secondary School and later Njiiris High School for his A – levels certificate, after sitting for his primary school examinations. He joined Kenya Science Teachers College where he trained as a teacher, after completing his secondary school education.

Mr. Joseph served as a high school teacher employed by Teachers Service Commission from 1986 to 1992. His teaching career started when he returned to his former school Olekejuado High School as a Mathematics teacher. Manje also served as a Commissioner at the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) between 2005 and 2011. He also ran the business with his major interests being in the leather industry and also served as a Manager at both Manyatta Hides and Skins from 1992 and 2002. He served as the South Rift Presidential Election Zonal Coordinator for the Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK), during the 2002 General Elections. Manje is involved in the leather industry through the operation of a franchise known as Manje Leather.
In 2007, he joined the politics and tried his luck in 2007 Kenyan General Elections where he faced off with the former Member of Parliament for Kajiado North Constituency and the 6th Vice-President of Kenya George Saitoti. He sought to contest for the vacant position in Kajiado North Constituency in the subsequent by-election via The National Alliance party ticket, following the death of George Saitoti in a helicopter crash in 2012. Joseph Manje later withdrew his candidature in support of Moses ole Sakuda in the party’s (TNA) nomination elections. Joseph contested again in 2013, after losing the first attempt at the seat in 2002, under The National Alliance (TNA) party ticket where he won with over 50% of the votes, beating other six candidates, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate coming second.
