Mama Ngina Girls High School Mombasa: Admissions and Contacts

Mama Ngina Girls High School is a public girls’ secondary school in Mombasa County. It has a history of educating girls from the Coast region and other parts of Kenya and encourages both academic development and co-curricular participation.

History

The school’s recorded history dates its establishment to 25 January 1988, when it opened as a double-stream girls’ boarding secondary school with 80 students. Its facilities developed from the former Mama Ngina Hostel following changes to the education system.

Where is Mama Ngina Girls located?

Older school listings place the institution on Mathenge Road in Kizingo, while a newer school-branded website lists Shanzu, North Coast. Because these records conflict, parents should confirm the exact campus and entry directions with the administration before travelling.

Academics, sport and student life

Students benefit from classroom study, clubs and co-curricular activities aimed at building knowledge, confidence and practical skills. Families should check the current senior-school subject pathways and options for their intended admission year.

Admissions

Selection to public senior schools follows the Ministry of Education’s prevailing placement arrangements. Use the official placement notice, authenticated joining letter and school instructions for reporting dates, boarding items and required documents.

Fees and KCSE results

Request a current signed fees notice and official payment instructions from the school. Examination performance varies by year; ask for results for the specific KCSE cohort rather than relying on undated online rankings.
