In 1986 and 1987, he moved to St. Peters Mumias Boys’ High School to earn his Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE). Upon completion of his secondary education, Moses Malulu joined Egerton University to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Sociology from 1988 to 1991. Later between 1993 and 1996, he was enrolled at University of Nairobi to take a Master of Arts in Sociology. In 2008, he attended Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa for a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D).

Since 2008 till 2012, Moses Malulu became a member at Lugusi Secondary School in a Board of Governors and from 2009 to 2012, again at Lugusi Secondary School, he became a Chairman in Board of Governors. Since 2010 till now, he is a member at St. Anthony Kakoyi Secondary School in Board of Governors and also since 2011, at St. Teresa Youth Training Centre in Malava, he is also a member in Board of Governors. Between 1998 and 2001, he was employed at Catholic University of Eastern Africa as a Deputy Registrar and later while still working at Catholic University of Eastern Africa, he was promoted to become a Registrar. From 1996 to 2013, Moses Malulu was a lecturer at Catholic University of Eastern Africa. Since March 2013, he has been an aspirant member of Kenya National Assembly representing a Malava Constituency.
