Grade 10 pathways and subject combinations

Kenya’s Competency-Based Education senior school system requires learners to choose an appropriate pathway and subject combination. The available science, social sciences, arts and sports subjects depend on approved school facilities and staffing. Check the official selection portal and the school’s joining instructions rather than assuming all pathways are offered.

Admissions, placement and boarding

Use the Ministry of Education’s authorised placement process to verify your selected school, then obtain an authentic joining letter. Confirm reporting dates, school uniform, personal documents, accommodation, bedding, health requirements and other approved supplies directly with the administration.

Fees and government assistance

Fees vary according to the approved programme, boarding arrangement and current government schedule. Obtain the latest written school-specific fee statement, approved payment method and information on any applicable scholarship or bursary. Never send fees to unverified personal accounts.

KCSE performance and school choice

Compare authenticated Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education results for named examination years. School suitability also depends on the student’s learning interests, access to specific subjects, safety, wellbeing and opportunities in sports and clubs. Do not treat historical results as a promise of future performance.
