RAILA ODINGA tear gassed. CORD leader, Raila Odinga was forced to hide in his car on Tuesday after police lobbed teargas canisters at his meeting in Huruma, Nairobi.

According to impeccable sources, Raila was in Huruma to console with families, friends and relatives of the Huruma Tragedy.

One source said police lobbed teargas canisters towards a crowd of people who had accompanied Raila Odinga to the scene of the Huruma tragedy.

The six- storey building collapsed in Huruma on Friday evening killing 21 people and hundreds others injured as a result.

“Police fired teargas and beat people as Raila arrived in Huruma to console with the victim,” one resident said.
The tear gassing of the ex-PM has been condemned by millions of Kenyans who accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of returning the country to the dark old days when the Government used to silence the opposition using unorthodox means.

“Kenya being turned into a state of tyranny. Why teargas Raila when he is just mourning with the residents?” blogger Robert Alai tweeted.
