Simba Arati was born on November 28th, 1981. Simba is a Kenyan politician and a Member of Parliament (MP) for Dagoretti North constituency, Nairobi county. Hon. Arati is a member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and a coalition member of Coalition for Reforms and Democracy.

Education
From 1996 to 1999, he attended Suneka High School then later joined Kenya Polytechnic for his Diploma in Tourism Management and did his Undergraduate Studies in Business Management at Guangzhou University from 2004 to 2006 before doing his Masters in International Relations at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University, Kisumu.
Wife
For the first time, the member of Parliament for Dagoretti North constituency, Hon. Simba produced his Chinese wife to the public after a section of Gusii leadership dismissed him as an ‘immature boy’. He was installed as Kisii spokesperson in a function that was skipped by a host of local leaders, with others accusing him of plotting to succeed Kisii County Governor, James Ongwae.
He was always seen in every function with his wife, who rarely attends public functions. Few months after Arati’s installation, dissenting voices now wants Kisii senator Sam Ongeri of Interior CS Fred Matiang’i take over as the spokesman of community. Simba said that he does not fight small wars. He had always believed in going for big things, including the presidency.
He further said that he is not a boy but a family man and has several children he takes care of. They will be shocked, especially those hiding in non-issues. Pundits said that he could be positioning himself for a debut in Gusii politics after a decade in murky Nairobi politics, a claim he has vehemently denied before. A family, traditionally, has played a crucial role in clinching elective positions within the patriarchal Gusii territory, and his decision could have been guided by the narrative, which has often been keenly observed.
Career
He was the Managing Director at Aipa Safaris Limited from 2004 to 2007 and became a Councillor in City Council of Nairobi from 2008 to 2012. He later vied for Member of Parliament seat for Dagoretti North Constituency under Orange Democratic Movement ticket in 2013. From 16th February 2013, he is Member of Coalition for Reforms & Democracy.
Achievement
He launched a ‘Kata Sukuma’ Competition through his Simba Arati Foundation in his constituency in June 9th, 2013. Participants were 263 who took part in the competition for the fastest sukuma wiki cutter in which the winner received a cash prize of Ksh.25,000. Arati said he was using the competition to remind people that even small things and businesses like sukuma wiki can one day make them great and become wealthy people.
