The Women Enterprise Fund (WEF) supports Kenyan women entrepreneurs through affordable loans, financial literacy training and market access. Its Tuinuke Chama Loan is designed for registered women’s groups starting or expanding businesses.
Who qualifies for the Tuinuke Chama Loan?
According to the official Women Enterprise Fund product page, a qualifying group should have 10–30 women aged 18 or older, be registered for at least three months, hold an active commercial bank account and complete WEF’s financial literacy training. Additional conditions apply.
Loan amounts and repayment
The official product schedule describes a graduation system: KSh 100,000 for the first cycle (six months), KSh 200,000 for the second (nine months), KSh 350,000 for the third (12 months), KSh 500,000 for the fourth (15 months), and KSh 750,000 for the fifth (18 months). Later cycles depend on successful repayment.
