From 1976 to 1978, Adan Yussuf attended the AHITI in Kabete to study a Certificate Animal Health. In 1984, Adan Yussuf joined the Egerton College to take a Diploma in Animal Health till 1987. Then in 1988 till 1991, while still at Egerton University, he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Animal Production. Between 2011 and 2014, Adan Yussuf joined the Development Alternative as a Director of Programs. In June 2014, was part of Pact Inc as a Deputy Chief of Party in Peace III Program. In 2017, Adan Yussuf joined the Kenya National Assembly as a Member of Parliament.
