Gathoni wa Muchomba is a media personality and currently a politician. Gathoni was born and brought up in Komothai, Githunguri. Gathoni is the current Women Representative for Kiambu county.

Gathoni joined Precious Blood Riruta after being emerged the best in her district in her KCPE exam where she was almost forced to drop out due to lack of school fees, at one time but a Good Samaritan came to her help. Coincidentally, the Japanese national was a volunteer teacher at the same institution her mother worked as a casual labourer, Komothai Girls School.

She detested half-term breaks because her mother could not afford the Ksh.2 for her bus fare, while still at Precious Blood. This meant she had to hike a lift and if she was not lucky, she would stay home for some days. She then joined Makuyu Secondary School as an untrained teacher. Few years later she was enrolled at the University of Nairobi for a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She was offered a job by one of her lecturers while in her second year, a job which saw Gathoni’s travel around the country documenting the farmers’ activities at the grassroots level. These activities saw her clips aired on KBC, which later gave her a job as a radio presenter at Kameme FM while in her 4th year of study.
