John Allan Namu is a former features editor, reporter and crime investigator at KTN. He is currently an Editorial Director of Africa Uncensored.
He joined United States International University to take a Bachelor of Arts, Journalism and Integrated Studies.
He was famous for his investigative documentary known as Jicho Pevu or Inside Story, which he was partnered with Mohammed Ali. John Allan Namu alongside his Africa Uncesored crew of cameramen (Elijah Kanyi and Samuel Munia), video editor (Steve Biko) and graphics artist (Clement Kumalija) in June 26th, 2019, won the 2019 Trace International Award in a gala held in Vancouver, Canada for their expose, The Profiteers.
His investigative report showed how suspected South Sudanese warlords and their relatives were living largely in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda undoubtedly blowing proceeds of plunder in the serene atmosphere of their host countries as South Sudan continued to crumble under endless war.
At 2015 annual journalism excellence awards held by Media Council of Kenya, he won journalist of the year. He worked at NTV as a Features Editor and Reporter in a short time.
He landed a deal with M-Net’s Maisha Magic East Africa to produce a crime drama called Kina starring celebrated singer-actor Sanaipei Tande in October 2019.

John Allan Namu got married to Sheena Makena. They have a three-year age difference with Makena being the older one, they say that the age gap never really comes between them. They got married in 2010 and have been blessed with four children. When she got pregnant with his child, things became complicated and she set out to plan out her life and this was a turning point since he had to come clean with his family and ex-girlfriend. This happened while he was working as an investigative reporter alongside Mohammed Ali and they both forced into exile abroad over threats.
