KASNEB Registration: Online, Fees & Entry Grades

KASNEB registration allows candidates to enrol for professional, diploma, certificate and post-professional qualifications. The earlier version of this article quoted 2015 fees, old registration deadlines and 2022 procedures. KASNEB now provides an official online student management portal for application, invoicing, payments, examination booking, exemptions and account renewal.

KASNEB registration requirements

The general entry requirements depend on the level of qualification. KASNEB may accept approved equivalent qualifications or additional recognised academic pathways.

Certificate (CAMS): generally KCSE mean grade D (plain) or accepted equivalent.
Diploma qualifications: generally KCSE mean grade C− (minus) or accepted equivalent.
Professional qualifications: generally KCSE mean grade C+ (plus) or another approved entry qualification.
Post-professional qualifications: a relevant professional qualification, recognised university degree or other KASNEB-approved equivalent.

Individual qualifications, exemptions and progression pathways have their own requirements. Check the qualification’s current syllabus and admissions guidance rather than assuming that a specific subject grade or 2016 certificate automatically qualifies you.

How to register online for KASNEB

Visit the official KASNEB student portal and select Create Account.
Enter your full name as on your identification document, date of birth, email address and password.
Activate your new account using the verification link sent to your email.
Log in and choose the appropriate certificate, diploma, professional or post-professional qualification.
Complete the requested personal and contact information.
Upload certified academic certificates, a national ID or passport copy and a recent passport photograph.
Submit the application and generate the official invoice.
Pay using the approved student portal or eCitizen process and await registration-number confirmation by email after document review.

KASNEB registration fees and payments

KASNEB’s official fee page lists fees separately for registration, examination papers, annual renewal, exemptions and account reactivation. For illustration, the published schedule shows a registration fee of KSh 3,500 for CAMS and KSh 6,000 for ATD. These are fee items, not the total cost of training and examinations, and may change.

KASNEB directs students to pay through the student portal; its current service guide also describes eCitizen payment and invoice-based options. Always confirm the amount and transaction recipient in the live portal. The 2015 bank details and legacy fee PDF in the original post should not be used.

How to book KASNEB examinations

Sign in to the student management portal with your registered email and password.
Select Examination Booking, followed by the student booking option.
Choose the available examination sitting: April, August or December.
Review the listed papers and remove any that you will not sit for.
Choose an available examination centre, noting that KASNEB may allocate or change a centre.
Review the payable examination fee, submit the booking, and make the authorised payment.
Download the timetable and examination instructions from the portal when they become available.

Registration deadlines and examination dates

KASNEB’s 2026 resources confirm April, August and December examination sittings. Deadlines are published for each sitting. The old article’s March 31 and September 30 cut-offs do not constitute an all-years rule; use the applicable current KASNEB notice. The September 17, 2026 announcement concerns December 2026 examination booking; confirm the specific cut-off on the current notice before submitting any payment.

Annual renewal, exemptions and certificates

Registered students can use the portal’s Renewal → New Renewal Applications option, confirm the current renewal amount and pay an invoice. Exemptions from individual papers may be considered after application, supporting documents and applicable fees. For certificates, results confirmation, dormant-account reactivation and other services, use the official Student Service Guide.
