Lupita Nyong’o is a Kenyan actress and filmmaker who is popularly known for the Academy Award winning role in a “12 Years a Slave” as Patsey in 2013 and in “Black Panther” as Nakia in 2018. She was born in March, 1983 in Mexico City, She grew up in Kenya until the age of 16 when her parents sent her back to Mexico to learn Spanish. She studied the film studies at Hampshire College and this was after working as a production assistant on several movies. She graduated from the Yale School of Drama acting program.
