Missing Syokimau Resident ‘Alice Wangui Githumbi’ Traced to a Prayer Center in Machakos.

Alice Wangui Githumbi who is a senior official from the ministry of health went missing for 10days and was found in a worship centre in Machakos town. She was reported missing on November 2nd at the Mlolongo Police Station.

Alice Wangui Githumbi was found in the company of other women at KAG Katoloni prayer centre on Friday night.

Detectives from the DCI Criminal Investigation traced her to the prayer centre after analyzing her mobile data and after getting information from a relative.

According to DCI Special Service Unit boss Pius Gitari, Alice Wangui had booked herself at the prayer centre for 10 days.

According to the records at the prayer centre, she had arrived there on the afternoon of October 29, the same day she left their home in Syokimau.

According to CCTV footage, Alice was captured being picked by a bodaboda rider from her Syokimau home at 6.38 am. She was dressed in a black coat, a multi-colored free dress and a pair of black sandals. She was also carrying a black handbag.

According to the information available, she was heading to a salon in town where she had booked an appointment with her hair dresser at 9am but did not show up.

Police are yet to take Gathumbi’s statement on why she decided to keep her movements to the prayer centre a secret without informing her family.

Her mobile phone remained switched of for all those days that she went missing.

Alice Wangui Githumbi
