From 2006 to 2009, Rachael Nyamai moved to the University of Aarhus in Denmark as a PhD Student and Research Fellow. In 2010, she was employed by Kenyatta University as a Lecturer, where she worked in the capacity till 2013. Between 2011 and 2012, joined the SEUCO as a Lecturer. In March 2013, she joined the Kenya National Assembly as a Member of Parliament for Kitui South Constituency.
