Nakuru Senator, Susan Kihika wedded her longtime boyfriend Sam Mburu in a traditional ceremony on November 7th, 2020 an event that was held in Marmanet, in Laikipia County.
Deputy President William Ruto was the chief guest in the ruracio ceremony, and was accompanied by other Tanga Tanga politicians including Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and Nyeri Woman Rep Rahab Mukami.

Susan Kihika is the daughter of the late veteran politician Dickson Kihika Kimani and Sam Mburu is a businessman and a close associate of Deputy President William Ruto. The two have dated for over 8 years. Susan Kihika is a mother of two daughters, Tiffany and Ashley.

Mburu had a first wife Beatrice Wanjiku whom he divorced in 2013. The court awarded Beatrice Wanjiku a Ksh 597,000 monthly maintenance allowance including 140,000 for food.
