Albendazole is an anthelmintic exhibiting vermicidal, ovicidal and larvicidal activity.
ABZ Suspension Composition
Each 5ml contains:
Albendazole USP -200mg
Flavoured syrup base -q.s
Colours: Brilliant blue FCF, Tartrazine
Indications/Uses
Single or mixed worms infestations including round worms, hook worms, Pin worms, whip worms, thread worms, tape worms and strongyloides stercoralis, hydatid cysts.
Use in Pregnancy
Contraindicated in pregnancy
Precautions
In women of child bearing age administer within 7 days of start of normal menstruation.
Side Effects
Gastro-intestinal disturbances, headache, dizziness, alopecia, rash, fever, haematological and liver enzyme changes
