Mashirima Kapombe is a news reporter and anchor. She is known for hosting Citizen TV Nipashe weekend on every Friday. She also hosts ‘Longalonga’ alongside Veterans Munene Nyaga and Nuhu Bakari in a fun-filled format that provides for voices from different counties. She can also be seen on ‘Sema Na Citizen’ show for news updates and a discussion on matters health on Wednesday. Mashirima attended Condolata Primary School for her primary education in Nyeri. She proceeded to Bishop Gatimu Ngandu in Karatina, where she passed her KCSE examinations. She joined Daystar University, Athi River Campus where she pursued Bachelor of arts in Communication and graduated in 2012.
In her career, she worked as an intern at KBC before moving to QFM where she worked as an intern and also on contract basis as a news reader for 6 months. She would also do stories for NTV during her free time. Mashirima joined NTV as a news anchor and reporter where she got the opportunity to learn and grow for a year and a month before moving to KTN in 2013

She is not married though there was a time said that Comedian Kazungu Matano commonly known as Otoyo and KTN’s Swahili anchor Mashirima Kapombe were dating. In 2014, Kazungu posted a photo of the beautiful Mashirima with a caption that suggests more than a platonic friendship. ‘Osiep chunya, was his caption which means A friend of my heart and also put her as his cover photo on Facebook. However, she denied that she was dating someone else and said she was still single.

She comes from a very supportive family and nothing much is known about her parents. Although her father is a Dentist in Nyeri County and he is a Giriama from Kilifi County while her mum is a Taita from Voi, Taita Taveta County. She moved with her dad to Nyeri after he changed a job.
